I'm not a big fan of Priceline or hotwire... but you can also try the airline's websites, they have packages as well, Southwest, American, United.. they all seem to have packages these days, which can save you money from booking separately or going through a travel agent. Best bet is to go to the hotels' websites. Most of them you can sign up for their versions of the players card. Once you sign up, you'll get emails and ads in the mail for discounts and free buffets and things. If you can go during the week, that'll be the cheapest hotel rate. Avoid boxing, nascar, conventions or any big events going on because that will definitely raise the hotel rates... most airlines are not charging extra for not having a saturday night stays anymore so you can go during the week. Orbitz has a nice feature of comparing airlines and packages in a grid format so it's easily visible. Start there.. but if you want to save money, you will have to do some work. My last trip to Vegas in February, I got an MGM offer for $50 in gaming tokens and Free buffet during my stay. Plus a room upgrade, so it's worth looking around. If you want to stay REALLY really inexpensive.. go toward the old strip/Fremont/downtown area.. where Golden Nugget, 4 Queens... and the older casinos are... you will have to drive or cab it over to the Strip but it may save you money in your hotel stays.. plus that's where you'll find $3.99 sirloin dinners.. Fremont casinos are smokier but the limits are lower and people who gamble there seem to be friendlier.. Some of the higher end Hotels on the strip have attitude problems... Good luck. You don't really need a rental car, especially if you're going to stay on the strip, unless you're driving to place golf in different locations or something. Continental and Southwest tend to have pretty good prices on flights. Call the hotels directly- it's always best to cut out the middle-man.
