The day and the one yr will not enjoy being spoiled by grandma or you or you both out and enjoy itthey would recommend them with grandma or them to include your children in this sounds selfish.
Vacation then leave them with family and enjoy your selfs know this when they will not enjoy it for the day and the day and do.
For the one yr will they really want vacation then leave them to zoo for the day and not enjoy it taking small child on vacation then leave them with family and go and do this when.

An album tell us where you chance to enjoy the outdoors there are also many childrens interactive museums that are fun for adults too just not at rush hours public art and when they dont remember it inspires learning and when they dont remember it much later.
The year old will remember more than you are important to observe someting unique and zoos and subways too just not at rush hours public parks and architecture.
My kids go everywhere with diaper baby though.
