What is a great destination for a family vacation?

There are two teenage girls in our family and we are looking into taking a tropical vacation. It can be in or out of the US, but can’t be ridiculously expensive for airfare ($1000’s of dollars in transportation per person is not reasonable) We have been to Maui and Riviera Maya. We are looking for a place that isn’t too touristy, but still has plenty to do.

If you have any recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated! Even if the destination you suggest is not tropical, we are open to other ideas!

OK.. there are many places to go to. An interesting place is Mexico. The new hotel called Grand Sirenis is wonderful and has a great beack and awesome service. In Dominican Republic in La Romana, there is a new hotel called Dreams… It should be awesome. Also, there is a great place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic called Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus and Costa Dorada. Really great sevice. Great pools, and good food.

What about another Hawaiian Island? There are some very nice condos in Kauai and Kona. However, Maui does have the most to do of all the islands. Kauai is more tropical and Kona has the volcanoes.
