How to effectively plan vacation to clearwater beach fla?

I'm up to about $ 1,500 with airfare and hotel only. Does this sound about right. I want a nice hotel and the flight of the inside of Boston. Could you go somewhere more comfortable for this price? This is my first time to plan vacations and I plan vacations more enjoyable for my money spent!
