The Grand Canyon is great and I would really recommend the "O" show at the Bellagio while in Vegas. It costs a lot but is truly spectacular.

I would probably aim for 5 days in each city. You can always spend more time in your favorite city next time.

My personal favorite is San Diego, but the others are worth visiting. For fun things to do in San Diego visit:

About 4-5 days in Vegas. Do the casinos, shows, Grand Canyon, take the "dam" tour, cruise Lake Mead, play golf( if you're into that). there's also an indoor skydiving place. While on your way to San Diego, stop in Temecula, about an hour north. There are at least 10 wineries for wine tasting, some nice antique shops, and hot air ballooning. Stay overnight, all that wine tasting can add up! San Diego, at least a week! There is so much to do. Balboa Park, the Zoo,Wild Animal Park, Sea World, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, Cabrillo National Monument( great views), the Beaches, USS Midway museum....Sorry I love San Diego, just can't afford a house there. Only been to LA a few times, really can't stand it. Traffic is a nightmare. Universal Studios is cool. Don't know if you're baseball fans, but catch a SD Padres or LA Dodgers or The Los Angeles Angels of the City of Anaheim game. Disneyland is in Anaheim. About 45 min from LA and an hour or so from SD.

MMM.....Vegas can be done in a couple days IMO. The main attraction there is the casinos, and the shows, so you want a couple days-maybe 3? Enough time to take a day trip to the Canyon, and a couple days to explore the Strip. The drive should take you anywhere from 6-8 hours between Vegas and San Diego depending on traffic--don't know about the drive to LA. Both San Diego and LA have TONS of stuff to do--in SD there are lots of historical sites, the SD zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and plenty of beautiful nature areas too--what's your focus? What do you like to do? LA as well (I don't know it as well), both are large counties with plenty to offer. I might suggest splitting the rest of your time fairly evenly between the two. So...3 in Vegas, 1 to drive to LA/SD, 4-5 days in each city? The drive between them is only maybe 2.5-3 hours depending on where in LA to where in SD, and definitely avoid rush hour at all costs :)
