I just won some money, I am considered poor but would love a vacation should I go on one, or just save the $$?
Pamela G asked:
I earn very little. I rarely have more than a couple hundred in the bank at any one time. I pay my bills but sometimes struggle to do so. I would love to go to Las Vegas on vacation. I have about 2000 available to spend. Would it be a wise decision? I have had some bad things happen recently and think it would be a great break from all the bad stuff. Do you think I should go, or would it be a dumb decision?

i say, buy yourself something nice, or go somewhere but not too big. it would be dumb to waste all the money like that

i think you should also treat yourself so that you would have a comfort zone admist of all the bad things that happened around you…but not to much…you should also be practical and save a bit for a rainy day…

If you check around carefully about educational opportunities and how they can help you increase your income, that money will give you big returns so that $2000 becomes fun change instead of your nest egg.

Split it. Pay off some bills with half, and take a decent (not fantabulous) vacation with the rest.

from one poor person to another…. SAVE IT!!! Trust me. Wait until you get more money and spend just a little bit of it. Have someone else treat you lol. good luck! resist the urge to spend and SAVE. I am learning that in a horrible way. I have no money to do much of anything right now. gah, the plight of poor girl.

if you haven’t been away for awhile splurge and do something nice for yourself, I think Vegas isn’t a wise choice due to the fact there’s more temptation to spend more and gamble…..go somewhere you’ve always wanted to and just go and enjoy….good luck with what you do and have fun

I think you should call the Oprah Winfrey show ,and tell your story see if she would fly you out to be on her show. And maybe provide you with a free vacation. Check this out please.

Vegas is a fun place and it really doesn’t cost a lot of money to go there…There are even packages you can do with airfare if you have to fly there…Its about a 5 hour drive for me….
You whole life can not be all about just getting by, sometimes you need a little break…Just dont gamble alot, there are tons of buffets with some excellent food…Room rates now because its hotter than heck are even less right now…If you wait till it cools down, you’ll pay more for the hotel room…
