For people who live in las vegas, nevada?

sweetangel asked:

when the weather channel says there are isolated or scattered thunderstorms like 30%, are there really t-storms??

Last time I went to Las Vegas for vacation, I wanted to go swimming, but there were barely any t-storms but the hotel closed the pools.
Don’t want that to happen again….

This is the monsoon season. Storms in a valley like Vegas with surrounding mountains make weird weather patterns. It can actually ran on one side of the street or in Henderson but not Vegas.

30% chance of rain means 70% chance it will not rain. This is the desert and you never know. Rain can be a few drops or a cloud burst. We have what is know as dry rain meaning thunder and dangerous lightning hence pools close of there are signs of rain. They don’t want someone killed.

Monsoon season starts in July so next time come in May or June or September or October.

The first person is right, but the best time to come is in the fall or spring months. The weather is beautiful and not as crowded. Room rates should be lower then.
