Cheap vacations? What is the best foreign place to visit on a budget?

I am a teenager interested in exploring the world. What countries prove to be cheaper than others? Would you recommend a (long) vacation or a work abroad program, cost wise? Perhaps I should just become a vagabond!

   I just found a flight and ten days at a hostel in Glasgow for about 1200 USD..

   Food and stuff is expensive there though…

   Interesting in Indonesia? Bali? Now is the time, promotions is very very good now, because of the Indonesian Visit Year 2008.

   Hotel is fair, food is cheap, transportation is super cheap…
   Consider Indonesia, ok? Visit the nearest consulat/ embassy to check out the work abroad program (who knows they have contacts who have the vacancies).

   How cheap, will depend on the current rate of currency exchange.
   You may seek out employment that takes you abroad, such as a document courier.
   International missions’ trips may be a good safe option.
   Otherwise youth hostels and odd jobs could be a way to go.
