Most casinos on the strip charge $4.50 per transaction. Taking out more in one lump sum rather than multiple, smaller transactions pays dividends...

Unless you bring cash to gamble with, you're kinda...you know...forced to pay their fees.

I'd recommend bringing what cash you want to budget for gambling and use credit cards for most other things. In that way, you won't be tempted to keep going back to the ATM.

The best way to get cash with out paying ATM fees is to go to grocery stores, Target, etc, buy a small price items (coke, candy, snack) pay with your debit card and tell the POS machine you want cash back. No fees, happy traveler. I am a banker and when I am some where that my bank does not have ATM machines that is what I do. I am NOT paying both banks a fee.
I live is Vegas and the machines on the strip and downtown charge a small fortune to us their ATM's avoid them.
Welcome to Las Vegas and have fun.

take some money out of your account before you leave for vacation and if you need more money use your check card. You don't have to walk around with a lot of cash you can leave some in the hotel safe when you go out.

Andrea

Traditional paper travelers cheques are very inconvenient, and there is a usually service fee to buy them. A travelers cheque card from American Express is more convenient but there is still a service fee - plus you still have to worry about ATM fees.

Ask your bank if they have a relationship or agreement with a bank in LV. That may or may not get you fee-free ATMs but low fees are a good possibility.

If all else fails, just use ATMs at real banks. They will charge a fee but it us usually small. Be very careful using ATMs inside a business (including a casino) as they can charge outrageous fees.

Carry cash in one of those under-garment waist safes & when you get to your hotel room divide it up as to what your limit will be per day to lose . Place it in your room's safe . If you win replace the entire day's starting capital , with winnings , in the safe & start the next day with the previously determined daily amount . You're more likely to lose your money with poor budget management than any other way in Vegas .

Talk to a bank representative or travel agent and ask if the area you are traveling to will except travelers checks, to my knowledge if they are stolen or anything they are insured some way or another so to be replaced , that would be the best way to go instead of carrying cash

Just keep a lot of your cash in the hotel room and take some out each time you go out. Each hotelroom has a safe (no kidding) if you're worried about security.

Carlos

Many banks offer minimum or no cost travelor checks. These are as good as cash and if they are the right ones they will be replaced if lost or stolen. This is the safest option since you are protected as soon as you purchase them.
The other option is to leave the bulk of your cash you travel with in the hotel safe in a deposit box. Most hotels will provide you a box for free if you stay with them.

Youre gonna pay an ATM fee anywhere in the country you go unless your bank has a branch there, but its only a buck or so with each withdrawal, so just make one large one and have the hotel keep the money in the hotel safe. OR get a debit card via your checking acct - no fees, no minimum amts, no problems and you can use it like a visa. Another idea may be to just get travelers checks. Vegas hotels are extremely accomodating to their guests...theyll know ways to assist you! Dont worry - so long as the money is in the bank and you are a hotel guest, then as one of the many hotel amenities, they will do the rest for you. They can even call the local bank and have them give you the cash and waive fees...they have the power to do stuff like that there. This I know cuz all the dozens of trips I took crosscountry over the years was to visit a friend who lives in Vegas.
